CSU 10th Heading Into Final Round of Western Intercollegiate Presented By Topgolf

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – After 36 holes of tough play, Colorado State is 10th at the 74th Annual Western Intercollegiate Presented by Topgolf Tuesday. The three-day, 54-hole event, hosted by San Jose State University and televised nationally on the Golf Channel, is being played at Pasatiempo Golf Club (Par 70 – 6,615 yards) in Santa Cruz, Calif.

In this historic tournament that is a unique play-six, count-five event, the Rams were in the afternoon wave and unable to string together birdies and finished with a 25-over 375 on the day and a two-round total of 41-over 741. No. 7 Pepperdine leads the tournament after the only under-par round so far for a team, shooting a 2-under 348 today and currently at 2-over 702. Washington is second, six shots back at 8-over 708, while Stanford is third at 10-over 710. BYU at 11-over 711 and Cal at 13-over 713 round out the top five teams.

AJ Ott leads the CSU effort at 4-over 144 in a tie for 25th, while Davis Bryant is tied for 62nd at 10-over 150. A trio of Rams are tied for 65th at 11-over 151 --Â Jack Ainscough, Rasmus Hjelm and Gunnar Broin. Parathakorn Suyasri rounds out the team one shot back at 12-over 152, tied for 76th. BYU's Carson Lundell is the 36-hole individual leader at 6-under 134, leading by four shots as just eight players are under-par after two rounds.

CSU will return to the course tomorrow for the final round, playing with UTEP, UC Irvine and San Jose State.
