FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State men's basketball has added transfer Chandler Jacobs (Missouri City, Texas/Elkins HS (Dallas Baptist University)) to the 2021-22 roster, head coach Niko Medved announced today. Jacobs is a graduate transfer and will have one year with the program.

"We are excited to add a talent like Chandler to our program," Medved said. "He has the ability to score and defend at a high level and is a tremendous young man."

Jacobs was an All-American his senior season at Dallas Baptist, averaging 20.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game while also earning Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Academic Player of the Year and First Team All-Lone Star Conference honors. He led the Patriots to a 17-5 record last year and their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid by shooting 44.5 percent from the three-point arc and scoring in double digits in all 22 games, including four double-doubles.  His 54 steals were the second most in Division II and he also ranked 10th in steals. He set a season high with 32 points in a win over Oklahoma Christian, one of his 13 games of 20 or more points his senior season. He was named the USBWA National Player of the Week twice and also earned South Central Regional All-Tournament honors.

The program's all-time leading scorer with 1,919 points, he was a four-time NABC All-South Central Region and all-conference selection, as well as being named the Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year. He set a school record with 666 field goals made and was second with 616 career rebounds, including a pair of career-high 33-point games against Arkansas Fort Smith and Mid-American Christian. He finished his career with eight double-doubles and averaged better than 14.9 points in each of his four seasons at Dallas Baptist.

He also was successful in the classroom, being named to his conference's President's or Commissioner's Honor Roll in each of his eight semesters, as he graduated this month with his bachelor's in accounting.

Jacobs was a three-year letterman at Elkins High School (Fort Bend ISD) and earned District 24-5A Most Valuable Player honor as a senior where he averaged 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He was an all-region selection for head coach Albert Thomas and also helped Elkins HS to a 35-2 record and the Class 5A state championship game as a junior.
