Erin Fahey comes to Colorado State from Bowling Green State University.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Head women's golf coach Laura Cilek is excited to announce the addition of Erin Fahey as an assistant coach to her staff. Fahey comes to Colorado State after spending the last two seasons in the same role at Bowling Green State University.
Â
"We are excited to welcome Erin to the Ram family and our Fort Collins community," Cilek said. "Erin is a great young mind in coaching. She is passionate about developing student athletes and will bring awesome energy as we continue to build a championship program here at Colorado State."
Â
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Fahey was a three-time captain for the Falcons and was named the 2019 Mid-American Conference Sportswoman of the Year. Over the course of her career, Fahey led BGSU to six team tournament titles, which included a title at the 2017 KZoo Classic, where Fahey also claimed the first individual championship of her playing career.
Â
"I'd like to thank Laura Cilek for the opportunity to become a part of the Ram family," Fahey said. "I am very excited to get started and continue to build upon the tradition of success that Laura has created. I am looking forward to working with our student-athletes on a daily basis and providing them a great college experience on and off the course."
During her playing career for the Falcons, the Austin, Texas native has rewritten the BGSU women's golf record book. Her 76.49 career stroke average is the top in program history by 1.74 strokes, while her 75.48 (2017-18) is the best single-season stroke average in BGSU women's golf history. Additionally, Fahey's 77.17 stroke average in 2015-16 still stands as a freshman record. Fahey was BGSU's leading scorer each year of her career.
A part of back-to-back (17-18 & 18-19) BGSU teams that ranked No. 1 in the country for Division I women's golf in community service hours, Fahey flourished within the BG community and inside the classroom. Fahey – a three-time Academic All-MAC selection and four-time WGCA Academic All-American Scholar – competed on two Bowling Green teams that ranked inside the Top 25 in the nation in Division I team GPA. The 2018-19 squad ranked 23rd in the country for team GPA, while the 2016-17 Falcons ranked No. 15 in the nation.
Â
Fahey received her Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in 2019. An economics major while at BGSU, Fahey earned her MBA (with a specialization in finance) from the University in 2020.
