CSU To Play In 10 Regular-Season Events In 2021-22

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State women's golf will again host the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic as part of its 10-tournament regular season schedule in 2021-22. In all, the Rams will span the country for its competition, planning in eight different states and two countries during the season.

"We will be playing a very competitive schedule and we will compete against teams from almost every conference in the country," Cilek said. "Our players have been patient throughout the last year and a half dealing with Covid and I know they are eager to get out and have a full year of competition."

The Rams will open the 2021-22 slate at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. on Sept. 13-14. CSU then heads to Madison, Wis., for the Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Sept. 19-21. The squad then returns back to Colorado for its final two fall events, playing in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, hosted by Denver, Oct. 8-10 in Highlands Ranch before hosting it home event at Ptarmigan Country Club, Oct. 18-19.

The spring portion begins in Las Vegas, Feb. 14-15, as CSU will play in the The Show at Spanish Trail (formerly known as The Rebel Beach). A trip to Mesa, Ariz., for the Clover Cup will occur March 10-12 before the Rams fly to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the El Tigre Hawkeye Invitational, hosted by Iowa, March 19-21. The Rams will then return south for the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, April 18-20.

The regular season concludes at the Mountain West Women's Golf Championship at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to one of four NCAA Regional sites, May 9-11. The year will wrap up again where it finished in 2021 as the 2022 NCAA Women's Golf Championship will again be contested at Grayhawk Golf Club's Raptor Course on May 20-25.
