The Rams and Aztecs will meet at Viejas Arena on CBS at 2 p.m. MT in the first of two scheduled games this year between the league's preseason top two picks

Opening Tip
• Due to COVID-19-related concerns within the Boise State and Nevada men's basketball programs, the Mountain West has adjusted the schedule and Colorado State will now play at San Diego State on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. MT, on CBS. The game was originally schedule for Tuesday, March 1.
• The game will be broadcast on CBS, with John Sadak and Jim Spanarkel handling the game.
• The audio will be on the Colorado State Sports Radio Network (along with online at CSURams.com), with Brian Roth and Adam Nigon on the call. CSU Sports Network broadcasts can be also accessed on mobile devices through the Varsity Network app (free on all Apple and Android devices). Fans can use the app for instant access to free gameday audio streams and receive push notifications to remind them of games starting or upcoming audio broadcasts.
• The game will also have live stats on CSURams.com.

10 Degrees of CSU Basketball
  1. This is a tight series, with San Diego State holding a 46-42 edge, including 28-14 in San Diego and 42-39 in league play.
  2. Last season, the teams split the two-game set in San Diego (due to COVID), with CSU rallying from 26 down in the opener to post the biggest comeback win in Mountain West history over the then-No. 23 Aztecs.
  3. For the fourth week in a row, CSU is ranked in the Associated Press top 25, as the Rams are No. 20 in the AP poll, while also being ranked No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.  This is the first time in program history that the Rams have been ranked for four consecutive weeks by the AP.
  4. The 11-game winning streak is also tied for the second longest in CSU history with Boyd Grant's 1988-89 squad. The 2014-15 team, led by Larry Eustachy, won 14 in a row.
  5. Because of six neutral site games in non-conference play (though Birmingham will hardly be neutral for Alabama on Dec. 21), Colorado State's first "true" road game in an opponent's home arena was scheduled to be Dec. 28 at The Pit vs New Mexico, 49 days from the start of the season. Due to CSU's COVID pause, the first true road game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 8, 60 days from the start of the season.
  6. Junior David Roddy became the 31st CSU player in history to score 1,000 career points when he reached the 1,000 point mark in the first half of the Mississippi State game on Dec. 11, while junior Isaiah Stevens got to the benchmark in his next game against Air Force on Jan. 4.
  7. While there are five other schools ranked in the top 20 nationally in at least two of the three shooting percentages (field goal, 3-point and free throw), Colorado State is the only program ranked in all three (2nd in FG, 4th in 3P FG, 4th in FT).
  8. CSU is outscoring opponents by an average of 10.8 points per game in the second half, including five games with 50 or more in the final 20 minutes.
  9. Juniors Isaiah Stevens and John Tonje and seniors Kendle Moore and Adam Thistlewood are all in CSU's top-30 for 3-point field goal percentage.
  10. Junior David Roddy was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top-25 Watch List on Jan. 5. He had previously been named to the preseason Karl Malone Award Watch List, announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
