LA QUINTA, Calif. – With two Rams in the top three, Colorado State took advantage of being in the early wave to avoid a windy afternoon and is in sixth after 18 holes of the 2022 The Prestige Monday. The three-day, 54-hole tournament, hosted by UC Davis, is being played at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST (Par 71 -7,100 yards) in La Quinta, Calif.

In the earliest wave of tee times in the 24-team field that features 22 ranked in the top 125 nationally, CSU was able to pull together a 9-over 293 and is in sixth place. No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 48 Oregon are the first round co-leaders at 3-over 287, one shot ahead of No. 25 LSU at 4-over 288. Long Beach State is in fourth at 5-over 289, with No. 14 Kansas completing the top five teams at 7-over 291.

Senior Davis Bryant is the individual co-leader with Reid Davenport of Vanderbilt at 2-under 69 as Bryant had three birdies and just one bogey in his opening round. Sophomore Gunnar Broin is one shot back at 1-under 70 in a six-way tie for third. Sophomore Rasmus Hjelm is next at 5-over 76 in a tie for 65th, while junior Connor Jones is tied for 91st at 7-over 78. Senior Oscar Teiffel is 114th at 11-over 82.

In the Prestige Individual event at Coral Mountain Golf Club, freshman Christoph Bleier is the top Ram in a tie for 17th at 1-over 73 after the opening 18 holes. Redshirt-freshman Gavin Hagstrom is tied for 46th at 6-over 78, while freshman Jay Pabin is tied for 49th at 7-over 79.
