Head Coach Jen Fisher announces three players for the 2022 class
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State softball head coach Jen Fisher announced the addition of three student-athletes to continue their career at CSU following high school graduation.
Â
"With only three roster spots to fill, this 2022 class is small, however we couldn't be happier about the quality of these three student-athletes," said Fisher. "We believe Amrajie Bass, Giselle Bentley and Delaney Saugstad will make an immediate impact both on and off the field for the 2023 season."
Â
Amrajié Bass | C/3B | Aurora, CO | Smoky Hill HS
Played softball at Smokey Hill High School in Aurora, Colo., for William Kingsbaker, Scott Henry and Brennen Brown… Earned All-State twice and named Centennial Player of the Year… Broke season home run record at Smoky and is the career leader in RBI.
Â
Chose Colorado State because…
"It felt like home and I loved the way the campus looked, is very close to home and the environment was a good vibe."
Â
Fisher on Bass…
"Amrajie is a talented catcher/third baseman, who swings a big bat. I think fans will really be excited about watching her do damage at the plate for the next four years and we are just so thrilled that she chose to stay in state and make CSU her home."
Delaney Saugstad | RHP/UTL | Riverside, CA | Yucaipa HS
Played softball at Yuvapa High School for Alyssa Liu… Was a scholar athlete and honor roll all four years… Also played two years of volleyball.
Chose Colorado State because…
"I chose Colorado State for its beautiful location and incredible campus. I have always felt at home whenever I stepped on campus and knew that was where I wanted to go to school since I was 12 years old. I also fell in love with the family atmosphere the team and coaches brought with them, and I can't wait to be a part of it."
Â
Fisher on Saugstad…
"Delaney is a special athlete and individual. Her style of play and love for the game is truly inspiring. Fans who have enjoyed watching Nelly Serna, #21 on the current roster, will recognize some similarities between Delaney and her. Delaney plays with energy and passion, and (similar to Serna) she can pitch, play defense anywhere on the field, and swings a big bat. We are excited to have such a versatile athlete and are getting a great all-around person."
Â
Giselle Bentley | RHP | Corona, CA | Centennial HS
Played softball at Centennial High School in Corona, Calif., for Krista Humphreys… Named All-League Academic and Scholar Athlete Award in 2020-21… Earned JV MPV in 2018-19… Earned the PAASAC Academic Achievement Award and Gold Honor Roll for a 3.5+ GPA in 2020-21.

Chose Colorado State because…
"I chose Colorado State because I fell in love with the atmosphere. The campus is absolutely gorgeous, I loved the trees. Fort Collins is such a fun amazing city, especially downtown, the shops there were to die for and I can't wait to go back! I am really thrilled to finally be able to experience all four seasons, so I am totally looking forward to that too. Coach Fisher, Coach P, and Coach Easley all welcomed me like family, and immediately I knew this place was going to be my home. I am literally so excited to be officially a part of the Ramily!!!"
Â
Fisher on Bently…
"Giselle will bring depth to our pitching staff. She is an experienced thrower that I would expect will become a star in this conference because she is a highly motivated and driven individual. Fans will like her combination of accuracy, movement, and velocity, along with her defensive prowess in the circle. We are so happy that she chose to call Fort Collins home."
