CSU Slips To 10th After Second Round of NCAA Bryan Regional

The winds picked up and scores increased across the board, but the Rams were unable to find birdies

BRYAN, Texas –  Colorado State could not find its rhythm on the course and slipped to 10th through 36 holes of the 2022 NCAA Bryan Regional Tuesday. The three-day, 54-hole event, hosted by Texas A&M University, is being played at Traditions Golf Club (Par 72 – 7,146 yards) in Bryan, Texas.
 
On a day with the wind picking up in the afternoon and gusting 15-20 mph, the Rams were unable to find the birdies on the course and posted a 15-over 303 and are currently at 20-over 596. No. 33 Arizona continues to lead at 13-under 563, three shots ahead of No. 12 Texas A&M and No. 13 Georgia in a tie for second at 10-under 566. No. 6 Pepperdine is fourth at 8-under 568, with Oregon State currently holding down the final advancing spot at 1-under 575.
 
Freshman Christoph Bleier is the top CSU player in a tie for 17th at 1-under 143 following an even-par 72 that included a late rally with three birdies in the last four holes. Senior Davis Bryant posted a 1-over 73 for the second round and is tied for 37th at 4-over 148. Junior Connor Jones is tied for 54th at 7-over 151, while redshirt freshman Gavin Hagstrom is 63rd at 10-over 154. Freshman Jay Pabin subbed in for an injured Rasmus Hjelm in the second round and posted an 8-over 80.
 
The Rams will begin the final round starting at 8:55 am CT/7:55 MT on No. 10 and playing with Boise State and Southeastern Louisiana.
