LOGAN, Utah – Starting off the game with a hot hand, Destiny Thurman scored a season-high 29 points as Colorado State cruised passed Utah State on Thursday night. Thurman scored 27 points in the first half – more than the Aggies did as a team.

Colorado State (9-5, 2-1 MW) finished shooting 52 percent form behind the arc, led by Thurman who hit five and followed by McKenna Hofschild who added another three. The Rams finished the game shooting 59 percent on 37-of-63. Utah State (3-11, 0-3 MW) was kept to just 35 percent shooting from the floor and from three.

Thurman led all scorers with 29 points, followed by Hofschild with 17. Cailyn Crocker and Meghan Boyd also reached double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectfully. Crocker, Hannah Ronsiek and Cali Clark all pulled down five boards each, while Hofschild handed out six assists.

Colorado State forced Utah State into 16 turnovers, which it turned in to 31 points. The Rams also dominated the paint, outscoring the Aggies, 36-16 and ran the floor holding a 12-2 fast-break points advantage. CSU's bench also added 35 points to USU's 27 and held the advantage on the glass, 38-29.

CSU used big runs across the first half with majority of baskets coming from downtown. In the opening frame, the Rams shot 68 percent on 10-of-15 with 6-of-9 from behind the arc. Action continued in the second quarter, hitting 61 percent from the floor. The Rams kept Utah State to just 23 points in the first half, while Thurman scored 27 points on 11-of-13, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range.

The final 20 minutes were easy going as CSU pushed its lead to 40 with 8:43 left to play for its largest lead of the night.
