LAS VEGAS - Colorado State earned two of the four individual awards - Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year - and was picked preseason No. 2 in the Mountain West's preseason prognostications released on Wednesday ahead of Mountain West Media Days.

McKenna Hofschild, the 2022-23 Player of the Year, was selected as the league's preseason Player of the Year headed into 2023-24. Last season, the 5-foot-2 Hofschild was named an Associated Press All-American after averaging 20.6 points and 7.2 assists per game on 48.8 percent shooting. She became the only player in program history to record back-to-back 200+ assist seasons and was the first All-American for the program since Becky Hammon.
