Colorado State moves into AP and USA Today Coaches Poll

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State knocked off its first top 10 ranked team in 39 years and Isaiah Stevens turned in an MVP performance at the Hall of Fame Classic last week. The two feats earned Stevens the Mountain West Player of the Week honor and CSU entered both the AP and USA Today Coaches Top 25 at No. 20 and 21, respectively.

Stevens and the Rams won the title with a 21-point win over No. 8/7 Creighton. The program's first win over a top 10 team since 1984 and fifth overall.

He averaged 19.0 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 58.6% from the field and 60.0% behind the arc. Stevens had an outstanding 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. In the win over Creighton, he scored 20 points and dished out seven assists while grabbing six rebounds.

The Rams return to the top 25 rankings for the first time since March 2022.

Colorado State returns home to face rival Colorado on Wednesday inside a sold out Moby Arena at 7 pm. It is the first time CSU will be ranked when taking on the Buffalos. CU has been ranked twice when the teams have matched up in 1969 and 2019.
