Kate Yoshimoto Named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week

Redshirt-sophomore libero leads Rams to 2-0 week

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State volleyball libero Kate Yoshimoto was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Rams to a 2-0 week seven of conference play with wins over Wyoming and San Jose State last week.
 
Yoshimoto led the Rams with 32 digs on the week, averaging 3.56 digs per set. The redshirt-sophomore also boasted a reception percentage of .964 with over 50 targets.
 
In Tuesday's win over Wyoming, Yoshimoto totaled 15 digs and six assists from the back row. In Thursday's win over San Jose State, Yoshimoto limited San Jose State to just a .147 team hitting percentage while totaling 17 digs and five assists.
 
This is Yoshimoto's first weekly award win of her career.
 
Yoshimoto and the Rams will be back in action this week as they travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to face off with UNLV before traveling to San Diego State to face the Aztecs. Colorado State will finish its home season in Moby Arena November 16th and 18th as they host New Mexico and Air Force in Fort Collins.
