Tran Adds Top 100 Recruit to Roster

Douglas ranked 61st nationally, 14th in the Southwest
FORT COLLINS – To kick off the signing period, Colorado State women's tennis coach Mai-Ly Tran landed one of the top recruits in the country as Paisha Douglas signed her National Letter of Intent, Tran announced Thursday.

Douglas, who hails from North Las Vegas, Nevada, is ranked the 61st best recruit nationally by Tennis Recruiting Network, 14th in the Southwest. A five-star recruit, she carries a 17-11 record against 4- and 5-star opponents.

"I am extremely excited for Paisha to join our squad next year. Â From the first day of her official visit, we had a great feeling about her and her family and what she could contribute to this team," Tran said. "Her enthusiasm, character and work ethic shine through, and her tennis speaks for itself. Â She is a competitor and is eager to carry on the culture we have built. We can't wait for her to be on campus and officially welcome her to the Ramily!"

Douglas helped Palo Verde High School win the 5A team title in 2021, winning the state doubles championship that season, but has not played for her high school since. This September, she reached the semifinals of the UTR Pro Tennis Tour Tournament.

The Rams, coming off two seasons of unrivaled success in program history since Tran took over the program, will lose four players to graduation this season. Â
