Colorado State men’s basketball earns highest ranking in program history and Isaish Stevens named Mountain West Player again
FORT COLLINS – It was a historic morning for Colorado State men's basketball earning their highest-ever ranking in both the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll. CSU checked in at No. 12 in the Coaches Poll and No. 13 in the AP.
Isaiah Stevens also picked up his second straight Mountain West Player of the Week honor for his performances in the wins over Colorado and Washington.
Stevens helped the Rams to a pair of top 65 NET wins with the home victory over rival Colorado and the neutral site win against Washington. He averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 assists and 2.0 steals with a 2.3 assists-to-turnover ratio. The guard had his third double-double of the year with his 20 points and 11 assists inside a sold out Moby Arena against Colorado. He turned in a 12 points and five assists performance against Washington while battling foul trouble. Ten of his 12 points came in the second half of the win.
Colorado State's highest ranking in the AP and Coaches Poll was previously No. 18 and 19, respectively. Along with the release of the updated polls the NCAA released the first NET ratings of the 2023-24 season with the Rams debuting at No. 7.
CSU hosts a pair of home games this week first on Wednesday against Denver at 7 pm and Saturday against Saint Mary's at 4:30 pm.
