Holker Reaches All-American Status; Named Second Teamer by USA Today and Sports Illustrated

Holker becomes the first tight end in school history to be named an All-American by the publications.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – All-American season has begun, and Colorado State junior tight end Dallin Holker is proving to be a fixture in it already as he was named a second team All-American by USA Today and by Sports Illustrated, the outlets announced on Wednesday.

The John Mackey Award finalist, which goes to the top tight end in college football, is the first Ram to earn All-American recognition from USA Today since Michael Gallup was also a second teamer in 2017. From Sports Illustrated, he is the first ever Ram to be named first or second team and the first overall since Shaquil Barrett and Kapri Bibbs were named to the honorable mention squad in 2013.

Holker's 64 receptions and 767 receiving yards were the most by any tight end during the 2023 regular season and ranked No. 40 and No. 69, respectively, among all pass catchers. His 10 contested catches, as graded by Pro Football Focus, were the most by any tight end, and his six touchdown receptions ranked third among tight ends.

Holker's 379 yards after the catch were the third-most among tight ends, and he converted more catches for first downs than any tight end in the nation with 38. Not content to just be a receiving threat, Holker was also one of the best pass blockers in the country in 2023, an invaluable asset in an offense that threw the football as much as anyone. Holker's 77.1 grade was the sixth-best mark in the country by PFF.

Within the program's single-season record book, Holker concluded his junior season among the very best. His six touchdown receptions tied for the most in a single season by a CSU tight end, and his receptions and receiving yards rank No. 3 and No. 2, respectively.

Additional All-American awards are expected to roll out over the coming week with the five official selectors for the NCAA All-American team – Walter Camp (Dec. 8), Associated Press (Dec. 11), FWAA (Dec. 11), AFCA (Dec. 12), and the Sporting News (Dec. 13) – all set to announce shortly.
