Jones Named to Ben Hogan Award Watch List

FORT WORTH, Texas – Colorado State senior men's golfer Connor Jones has been named one of the 37 top collegiate golfers in the nation with his inclusion on the 2023 Ben Hogan Award watch list.

The Ben Hogan Award presented by PNC Bank annually awards the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. Past winners of the award include Jon Rahm, Patrick Cantlay and Viktor Hovland.

Jones finds his name on the distinct list after claiming a pair of individual titles during the fall season and going a perfect 4-for-4 finishing in the top 5. He won both the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational and Denver TPC Colorado Invite while finishing tied for fifth at the Ram Masters Classic and tied for fourth at the Saint Mary's Invitational.

His strong fall has him ranked seventh in the GolfStat rankings and No. 34 in Golf Weeks. Jones is also currently fourth for the United States team in the Arnold Palmer Cup standings.

CSU fed off Jones' individual success and won their first three tournaments in 2022-23. The success in the fall has CSU ranked No. 21 entering the spring season. The Rams start their spring season with The Prestige in La Quinta, California, February 20-22
