Rams Continue Season at WNIT

Colorado State will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa to play Northern Iowa in the women’s national invitational tournament on Thursday
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State's season did not end in Las Vegas last weekend in the semifinal of the Mountain West Tournament, the Rams are heading to the postseason in back-to-back seasons playing Northern Iowa in the WNIT on Thursday in Cedar Falls, Iowa starting at 5:00 p.m., MT.

The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the second round and play the winner of Nebraska and Missouri State.

Colorado State heads into the week with a 20-11 overall record and finished 12-6 in Mountain West action. The Rams' 20 wins are the first back-to-back seasons since 2013-18 and the seventh for head coach Ryun Williams.

The Rams will make their ninth WNIT appearance and sixth under head coach Williams. Colorado State made an appearance last season suffering a loss at Portland in the first round after an unexpected run in the Mountain West Tournament to the championship game.

Northern Iowa will make its 11th WNIT appearance, playing 17 games in and holding a 7-10 record. The Panther have been to five consecutive WNITs dating back to 2018 and excluding the 2020 season. UNI made deep runs into the tournament in 2021 and in 2016.
