Colorado State adds experienced guard to 2023-24 roster
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women's basketball team is adding experience to its 2023-24 roster as the program welcomes Jackie Carman, a 5-8 guard from Wofford College as a graduate transfer head coach Ryun Williams announced on Thursday.
Â
"Jackie is a very experienced and accomplished guard that has won a lot of college basketball games," said Williams. "Her career production at Wofford is very impressive, and we are excited about what she will bring to the roster."
Â
Carman was with Wofford for five seasons, including a medical redshirt her sophomore season. In her four seasons, she played in 103 games, making 87 starts and averaged 12.7 points per game in 29.7 minutes. She shot 36.6 percent from the floor, including a 31.7 mark from behind the arc. She leaves Wofford as the winningest individual player in program history and the 17th to score over 1,000 career points – leaving with 1,306 and 9th all-time. Her 206-career made 3-pointers also are second all-time at Wofford.
Â
During her final season with the Terriers, she helped her team to a SoCon regular season title and a trip to the conference championship game before a WNIT bid. She was second on the team averaging 15.1 points per game and shot 39.4 percent, including a 33.8 pace from 3-point range. Carman was named to the Preseason All-SoCon Team prior to the 2022-23 season and earned SoCon Player of the Month for December as well as named a consensus Second-Team All-SoCon member and a SoCon All-Tournament Team selection.
Â
The guard had 28 games with double-figure points in her final season, including nine games with 20-plus points including a season-high 25 against Mercer. She started the season with 15 consecutive contests scoring double-figures.
Â
She was also a consensus First-Team All-SoCon selection and named to the SoCon All-Tournament Second Team in 2021-22 after averaging 12.4 points per game and shooting 38.8 percent from the floor.
Â
Prior to Wofford she was a four-year letterwinner at Hathaway Brown, earning First-Team All-Conference and All-District selections along with being named Third Team All-State in Ohio her senior year. She led her team to three district championships – including a two-time regional champ and regional semi-finalist, appearing in two final-fours in the state tournament and a runner-up in 2016.
