Colorado State adds Swedish forward from Kansas
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State will add to its depth and experience on the 2023-24 roster as head coach Ryun Williams announced the addition of Sanna Strom – a forward from Lulea, Sweden.

"Sanna is a very competitive and tough player who can play multiple positions," said Williams. "She is a player that can rebound, guard multiple spots and can shoot the basketball as well as attack and use her size and strength around the rim. Sanna does a lot of things on the floor well and has the ability to impact the game in many ways."

Strom played her last two seasons in Lawrence, Kansas for the Jayhawks. She played in 43 total games, including 34 last season and made eight starts, averaging over 16 minutes a game. Besides being a force on defense, she shot 30 percent from behind the arc on the offensive side, making 22 three-pointers.

In between her two seasons at Kansas, Strom played in the FIBA U20 European Championships during the summer of 2022. She competed for Sweden in Group A of the tournament, helping her country to a 4-3 record. She started in each of Sweden's final six games, averaging 7.2 points, 4.8 rebound and 2.5 assists per game. She also shot over 41 percent from the field, while scoring double figures twice against Belgium and Lithuania.

Strom is from Lulea, Sweden and prepped at Rig Lulea, the same hometown and high school as Stalwart Ram Ellen Nystrom (2013-17). During her prep years she played in the women's U6 Division B helping her team to a first-place finish in the European Championships. She also has won first, second and third place at the Nordic Championships with three different teams. She also earned a spot on the Swedish Championships All-Stars Team and European Girls Basketball League (EGBL) All-Stars squad, named league's Most Valuable Player
