Rams Shoot Best Round of NCAA Championship

Colorado State finished 28th at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Colorado State men's golf turned in their best round of the NCAA Championship on their final day at the tournament with a 10-over, 290 on Sunday. CSU ended up in 28th place with a 54-hole total of 885 (+45).

In the final collegiate round of his career, Davis Bryant turned in the best individual round shooting a 1-over, 71. The Aurora native capped off his CSU career by tying for 81st at the NCAA Championships with a total of 10-over, 220. He started the day strong making the turn at 1-under with eight pars and a birdie on the sixth hole.

Bryant reached 2-under through 13 holes, but four bogeys and a birdie over his final five holes pushed him to 1-over for the day.

Another Ram matched Bryant's 1-over round in Christoph Bleier. The sophomore rebounded from a tough second round with his round Sunday. Like Bryant he had eight pars on the front nine but had one bogey. He was 2-over through 12 holes before he ended his day with two birdies and a bogey. Bleier ended up tied for 135th for the tournament.

The highest finish by a Colorado State golfer came from Connor Jones tying for 68th. Jay Pabin was one of those to tie with Bleier for 135th and Rasmus Hjlem tied for 141st.

CSU had a successful first year under head coach Michael Wilson advancing to their first NCAA Championship in 12 seasons, along with winning three tournaments as a team and three individual medalists. The Rams were ranked in the top 25 for most of the season.
