Torres Consistent During Round 1 of NCAA Regionals

Sofia Torres strings together 13 straight pars
WESTFIELD, Ind.  – Consistency was the name of the game for Sofia Torres during round one of the Westfield Regional at The Club at Chatham Hills on Monday. The junior shot a 2-over, 74 stringing together 13 straight pars to end her round.
"Sofi did a great job of playing her game today," assistant coach Brady Campbell said. "After a couple of bogeys early, she settled into her round. She ended the day with thirteen pars and gave herself a lot of chances. Tomorrow she can stick to her game and the putts will start to drop."
The first Ram to compete in the NCAA Regionals since 2018, there was a bit of nerves on her first hole, the par 4, 365-yard 10th. Torres bogeyed the opening hole but steadied the ship after that with only one more blemish, a bogey on the par 3, 14th.
She went on to par her remaining 13 holes to finish in a tie for 41st. Torres is just two strokes outside the top 25. Her 16 pars tied for the second most on the day, trailing the 17 by Iowa State's Liyana Durisic.
