Colorado natives and Rams Davis Bryant and Connor Jones to compete in the 123rd US Amateur

CHERRY HILLS, Colo. – Historic Cherry Hills Country Club welcomes the best Amateurs in the United States to its grounds August 14-20 hosting the 123rd US Amateur. A pair of Colorado State Rams and Colorado natives will be a part of the championship in Davis Bryant and Connor Jones.

Both Bryant and Jones are competing in their second US Amateurs. Jones qualified for this year by winning the local qualifier at Columbine Country Club with a 36-hole total of 133 (-11), finishing five strokes ahead of his closest competitor.

For Bryant, he earned an exemption thanks to his exceptional play on the amateur circuit placing in the top five in points of the Elite Amateur Cup. His performance included winning the Southwestern Amateur last month, becoming the tournament's first repeat champion.

Monday and Tuesday will feature stroke play at Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in Parker. Both Rams will play at Colorado GC on Monday with Jones teeing off at 7:00 am and Bryant in the afternoon heat at 2:20 pm. Tuesday the duo will play at Cherry Hills with Jones going off at 12:30 pm and Bryant at 8:50 am.

The top 64 players after stroke play advance to match play starting on Wednesday all at Cherry Hills.

Cherry Hills has been the host to the US Amateur twice before including in 1993, won by Phil Mickelson. The most famous USGA Championship held at Cherry Hills was the 1960 US Open won by Arnold Palmer.
