Trio of Rams Finish in Top 15

Colorado State women’s golf starts 2023-24 season with top 10 finish
MADISON, Wis. – A trio of Colorado State Rams women golfers finished in the top 15 at the season-opening tournament. Sofia Torres, Andrea Bergsdottir and Kara Kaneshiro helped CSU earn a sixth place finish at the Badger Invitational.

Torres picked up right where she left off last season with a tie for seventh finish shooting 1-over, 217. The senior put together a 1-over, 73 on Tuesday as the teams battled the course and rainy conditions. Torres had a trio of birdies over her final round. The eighth top 10 finish of her career ties her for 10th all-time in program history with Ellen Secor (2016-19).

Bergsdottir and Kaneshiro each tied for 14th with 3-over, 219s for the tournament. The freshman, Kaneshiro, had a strong finishing round shooting an even-par 72. Bergsdottir was 3-over for the day.

The Rams finished four strokes out of the top 5, going 19-over, 883, for the tournament.

Colorado State returns to action next week when they host their lone tournament of the season at the Ptarmigan Ram Classics. Teams decent upon Ptarmigan Country Club September 25-26 for the 54-hole tournament.
