CSU men’s basketball hosts Colorado and Saint Mary’s during non-conference play
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Niko Medved and the 2023-24 Colorado State men's basketball team will not back down from a challenge and it shows in their non-conference schedule.
"This is one of, if not the most challenging non-conference schedule that we have put together. We always strive to schedule in a way that prepares us for the Mountain West and gives us an opportunity to play in the postseason," head coach Niko Medved said. "Our coaches and players understand the challenge and we are always excited to compete against the best."
CSU's non-conference schedule is highlighted by Colorado and Saint Mary's visiting Moby Arena this season along with neutral site games against Boston College, Washington and either Creighton or Loyola Chicago.
The Rams will not leave the Centennial State, or even the 970-area code until Thanksgiving week opening with back-to-back home games against Louisiana Tech (Nov. 6) and Wright State (Nov. 10).
CSU stays in the northern Colorado area with a trip to Greeley against Northern Colorado on November 14 before returning home on November 17 to host Kansas City.
The program will spend Thanksgiving in Kansas City competing in the Hall of Fame Classic inside the Sprint Center. CSU opens the tournament against ACC-foe Boston College on Wednesday, November 22. The Rams will face either Creighton or Loyola Chicago on Thanksgiving Day.
The Rocky Mountain Showdown on the hardwood will take place on November 29 when the Buffalos visit Moby for the first time since 2019. Colorado State makes it back-to-back games against PAC 12 competition when they face Washington in Las Vegas on December 2.
CSU's home portion of the non-conference schedule concludes by hosting Denver (Dec. 6), Saint Mary's (Dec. 9), CSU-Pueblo (Dec. 17) and Adams State (Dec. 29). The Rams wrap up non-conference road play just before the holidays with a trip to LMU on December 22.
Colorado State's Mountain West schedule will be announced at the end of September or early October. CSU will play eight of the 10 teams twice in conference with San Jose State only coming to Moby this season and Fresno State only hosting the Rams.
CSU returns three starters from the previous season including first team All-Mountain West guard Isaiah Stevens.
