Dear Rams,
This past weekend was really special having so many Ram Legends back on campus for the Ram Good Time Weekend. The Ram Good Time Weekend was an opportunity for us to host and celebrate our newest Hall of Fame inductees and our recently announced Walk of Champions members. Seeing their families, friends, former teammates, and former coaches show up for these special moments emphasized what a crowning achievement this is for these former student-athletes.
Path to the Pac
On Friday, during the Ram Good Time Gala, we announced our Path to the Pac initiative. While our official move to the Pac-12 does not take place until July 1, 2026, the preparation starts now for this transformational moment in Colorado State University history. This move is an opportunity for our University to continue to elevate our academic, research, and athletic pursuits. The invitation we received is a direct result of years of preparation by many people and was cemented by President Parsons' support. Her leadership and vision for the growth of Colorado State comes at a pivotal time for our programs and it's important for me to thank her for her visionary leadership. I can confidently say that we belong in this new conference with the other like-minded aggressive and innovative institutions. We are going to enjoy great success, but it will take all of us working together to achieve it. I invite you to learn more about the Path to the Pac by clicking or tapping here.
Ram Good Time Weekend
It really was a Ram Good Time this past weekend! Thank you to all who attended the Ram Good Time Gala on Friday and supported current student-athletes while celebrating previous greats! In addition to inducting the Colorado State Hall of Fame Class of 2024, the Ram Good Time Auction returned, and once again, will continue to provide critical support for the Rams.Â
Newest Hall of Famers
Congratulations to our newest members of the Hall of Fame Deedra Foss (Walker), Garrett Grayson, Krishen Hemphill (Nichols), Rashard Higgins and Kenny Hines. It was a fantastic evening on Friday celebrating these five elite student-athletes.
Walk of Champions
Saturday morning we were able to celebrate our inaugural Walk of Champions Class. With over 500 former student-athletes to celebrate we are grateful to have so many back on campus this weekend. We cannot wait to unveil the permanent walk, which will be located on the East side of Canvas Stadium, to celebrate these great Rams and future Walk of Champion inductees.
Weekend Recap
It was a great weekend for the Rams as Mountain West play has started up for our fall sports. Football opened up conference play on Saturday with a great 31-24 win over San Jose State inside Canvas Stadium. Volleyball is 5-1 through the first three weeks and sit in first place.
Emily Kohan's team has already defeated last years regular season champions, Utah State, tournament champion, Fresno State, and secured a Border War win.
Coach Keeley Hagen's soccer team is unbeaten midway through conference at 4-0-2. They are tied with Boise State atop the league standings. Our soccer program also celebrated nine great seniors on Sunday as their season starts to wind down with just two more opportunities to see them play in Fort Collins this season.
Finally, our women's cross country team picked up a win this weekend at the Colorado Springs XC Open. Jaden Theis led the Rams with her second place finish in the 6K at 21:30.7. The men had a strong showing as well claiming second place.
Homecoming Weekend
Join many of our alums returning to campus the weekend of October 25-27 for Homecoming. It all starts Friday evening inside Moby Arena where you can get a first look at the 2024-25 men's basketball team with their annual Homecoming and Family Weekend open scrimmage at 5 p.m. Admission is free! Afterwards, head over to the Lagoon and take part in the annual Homecoming Pep Rally. On Saturday, cheer on football as they host New Mexico at 3:00 p.m. Get your tickets now, they are going fast!
Looking Ahead
While our fall sports are in the middle of their conference races, winter sports have started preparing and competing for the upcoming season. Our swimming and diving team competed in their season-opening meet earlier this month and hosts their first home meet on Friday, October 18 against future Pac-12 foe Washington State. Stop by Moby Pool and cheer on the Rams at 4 p.m.
Hoops season is almost here! Join coaches Niko Medved and Ryun Williams for Moby Madness all winter long. Our women's basketball team tips off the season with an exhibition on October 29 against Regis and the men host Adams State on October 30 for an exhibition. The 2024-25 regular season starts November 4 with a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. when the women host San Francisco, followed by the men taking on North Dakota. If you have not reserved your tickets yet, please contact the Rams Ticket Office by visiting CSURams.com/Tickets or calling 800-491-RAMS (7267) soon so we can provide they best support to these teams. Attendance is important and makes a real difference!
Enjoy another great fall week in Rams Country, I hope to see many of you at Air Force this Saturday when Coach Norvell and our Rams football team take on the Falcons at 6:00 p.m.
