LAS VEGAS – The buzz around Colorado State women's basketball continues to grow louder as forward Emma Ronsiek was named the Mountain West's Preseason Co-Player of the and Newcomer of the Year, the league announced on Wednesday morning ahead of media day in Las Vegas. Additionally, Ram guard Kloe Froebe was selected as the conference's preseason Freshman of the Year, giving Colorado State representation in each of the league's preseason individual awards.

Ronsiek, a two-time All-BIG EAST First Team honoree in her four seasons at Creighton, was one of the top players in the BIG EAST across the 2023-24 season, averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per game during her senior campaign. Ronsiek has averaged more than 13 points per game in each of her last three seasons and owns a 14.1 points per game average over her career. She joined Wyoming center Allyson Fertig in sharing the league's top preseason honor.

A seasoned veteran at the NCAA Division I level, Ronsiek has started 109 of her 115 games played and helped Creighton win 81 games during her four years with the program. Ronsiek has scored 1,622 points across her collegiate career, reaching double figures in 79 games and scoring 20-or-more points on 28 occasions. Earlier this month the Sioux Falls, S.D., native was named to the 25-player watch list for the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.

Froebe, a guard from Illinois, holds one of the most impressive prep resumes of any incoming freshman in the MW. The 2024 Gatorade Illinois Girls Basketball Player of the Year and 2024 Illinois Miss Basketball averaged 28.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.2 steals and 4.8 assists as a senior, scoring a total of 1,063 points in her final campaign at Lincoln Community High School. A four-time Class 3A First Team selection, Froebe finished her high school career No. 5 in Illinois state history with 3,262 points.

In the MW's preseason media poll, which was also released Wednesday, Colorado State was picked to finish third while collecting the second-most first-place votes with four. The Rams finished behind three-time defending champion UNLV (21 first place votes) and Wyoming (three first place votes).
