Jones Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

After breaking school record Saturday, Jones recognized by conference
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State volleyball opposite hitter Malaya Jones was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Rams to a 2-0 week two in conference with wins over Wyoming and Boise State.
Jones led the Rams with 45 kills across eight sets to average 5.63 per set while hitting at a .383 clip with 94 total attempts, over 50 more attempts than the next Ram this week. Specifically, Jones hit for .509 in win over Boise with 31 kills on 55 attempts as a pin hitter.
Jones' 31 kills over Boise State was a four-set single-match school record. She now owns the three-set, four-set and five-set single match school records, outright.
In addition, she totaled three service aces with a .919 serve percentage, added a block to total 48.5 points, good for 6.06 per set, her second week in a row posting over six points per set enroute to a double-double in both matches this week.
Jones and the Rams will go on their final regular season road trip this week to face off against Fresno State Thursday and San Jose State Saturday.
