Patrick McLaughlin will join Colorado State in January to lead development staff

FORT COLLINS—Colorado State Athletics welcomes Patrick McLaughlin to the staff as the senior associate athletic director for development. As he joins the staff in January, McLaughlin will oversee the Ram Club, CSU Athletics' fundraising operation.

"I am thrilled to welcome Patrick, his wife Sarah and their family to Fort Collins. Patrick has great experience growing engagement and support at the highest levels of college athletics," Director of Athletics John Weber said. "His experience, energy, and innovative mindset will be great assets in leading the strategic direction of our development team at this exciting and critical time. Building deep and strong relationships with all Rams and those who love Colorado State is really important.  I am excited for Ram Country to meet Patrick and his family!"

McLaughlin has an extensive history of fundraising and elevating the universities he has worked at over his career, including Georgia, Penn State and Temple.

He will come to Fort Collins from Athens, Georgia, and the University of Georgia where he was the senior director of development. While with the Bulldogs he was a key contributor to their 'Commit to the G' campaign which raised over $300,000,000 for Georgia Athletics. He also helped oversee and lead Georgia's development staff while helping align the athletic development efforts with the broader institutional priorities.

"I am honored to join Colorado State University. Thank you to John Weber and Scott Sidwell for entrusting me with this responsibility. This role is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to an institution with a proud tradition of excellence aiming to reach bold new heights," McLaughlin said. "CSU Athletics is at a pivotal moment, forging a bold Path to the PAC, elevating its presence on the national stage. I'm excited to join the incredible team in the Ram Club to help along this journey.
I'm deeply grateful for the mentors and experiences that have prepared me for this moment, and I look forward to serving the CSU community. Go Rams!"

Prior to Georgia, McLaughlin spent two stints at Penn State sandwiching his time at Temple, all in their respective athletic development offices.

Over his two times in Happy Valley, Mclaughlin became a key revenue generation contributor, leaving the university as the senior director of premium experiences. He helped manage the revenue department for the Nittany Lions seeing increased football ticket revenue of seven figures and overall football revenue of eight figures. McLaughlin was also a key contributor in building a new internal sales staff still used at PSU. A key area of focus for him was the collaboration with athletic and university leadership to maintain and create new premium initiatives.

As the assistant athletic director for development at Temple, McLaughlin implemented a strategic leadership gift model to maximize revenue generation for the athletic department and helped develop a culture of philanthropy for athletics.

McLaughlin earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Temple, where he was a student-athlete and captain of the men's gymnastics team. He also served on the athletic department's Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Mclaughlin comes to Fort Collins with his wife, Sarah, and four kids Weston, Avery, Declan and Lena.
