Lesnar earns second weekly award of the season

FORT COLLINS – Junior thrower Mya Lesnar was named the Mountain West Women's Field Athlete of the Week after her nation-leading performance at the Don Kirby Invitational last weekend.

Lesnar not only broke her own school record in the women's shot put with a throw of 19.07 meters on day two of the Don Kirby Invitational, but her mark is also the best mark in the NCAA so far this season. She placed first in the women's shot put Saturday with her mark also being the eighth-best all time in the NCAA.

Lesnar also had an impressive day one of the Don Kirby Invitational as she placed first among a competitive field in the women's weight throw with a career-best mark of 21.78 meters, moving her up to third place all-time in CSU history. This throw ranks her 14th in the nation and first in the conference.

Colorado State will take the weekend off to prep for the Indoor Mountain West Championship meet taking place February 22-24 in Albuquerque, at the same facility as the Don Kirby Invitational.
