Jake Rodgers earns first Mountain West weekly honor

FORT COLLINS – Freshman Jake Rodgers earned his first Mountain West weekly honor announced on Wednesday by the conference, picking up the Freshman of the Week honor.

Rodgers helped CSU to an eighth-place finish at The Prestige. Half of the 24-team field was ranked in the top 50 nationally.

He shot an even-par 213 for the three-day event to tie for 38th, the second best finish for a Ram at the event. After opening the tournament with a 2-over 73, Rodgers carded back-to-back 1-under 70s to close the tournament.

Rodgers and the rest of the Rams return to action March 4-5 at the Lamkin San Diego Classic.
