For the second time in three weeks, Andrea Bergsdottir and Kara Kaneshiro earn weekly honors
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State women's golf swept the Mountain West's weekly awards for the second time this spring with Andrea Bergsdottir and Kara Kaneshiro earning Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively.
The duo helped CSU finish to a seventh place at the tournament in a field featuring three top 50 teams.
Bergsdottir picked her second Player of the Week honor by finishing tied for second at the Westbrook Invitational shooting a 13-under, 203. She matched her career-low with a final round 66. Bergsdottir has put together eight straight rounds below par. Over the 54 holes she tied for the tournament lead with 18 birdies.
Kaneshiro earned her third Freshman of the Week honor by shooting a 2-under, 214 at the Westbrook Invitational. Firing off back-to-back even-par 72s she closed the tournament with a 2-under, 70 in the final round. She tied for CSU's second-lowest score of the invitational.
CSU looks to continue the strong spring at the Tulane Classic March 10-12 in New Orleans.
