Rams land another weekly award after performance at Colorado Invitational
FORT COLLINS – Distance runner Brooklyn Ewert was named the Mountain West Women's Freshman of the Week after her personal-best performance at the Colorado Invitational last weekend.
The Loveland, Colo. native and Mountain View High School graduate claims the first weekly award of her young career after recording a time of 2:12.16 in the women's 800 last weekend in Boulder. This time was good for second place at the meet, 11th in the Mountain West so far this season and is the third-fastest time among freshman in the conference.
Ewert and the Rams will split up this weekend as Colorado State's sprinters and jumpers will travel to the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico while Ewert and her distance team will travel to the highly competitive Husky Invitational hosted by Washington. Both meets will take place Friday and Saturday.
