FORT COLLINS – Colorado State's McKenna Hofschild was named again to the All-Region team by the Women's basketball Coaches association (WBCA) the organization announced Tuesday. Hofschild was the first player in program history to be named to the WBCA's All-Region team a season ago.

Hofschild led the Mountain West in points (684) and points per game (22.1) for the second consecutive season, as well as leading the league in assists (227) and assists per game (7.3) for the third time. Her assists marks were also close to the top of the nation with her assist average No. 2 just behind Caitlin Clark. Her 3.03 assist/turnover ratio is also second in the country.

Before the Mountain West Tournament, Hofschild was named to the All-Mountain West team – making her a four-time member and only the fifth player in league history and the second at Colorado State.

Hofschild will hang up the Green and Gold as one of the all-time best to don it. She is the only player in program and Mountain West history to exceed 200 assists in a season, doing it three-consecutive times and broke her own season record again this season with 227 assists. Her 779 career assists are by far the most in program history and in the Mountain West.

She is also second all-time in scoring at CSU and the Mountain West with 2,162 points. Her 684 points during the 2023-24 season are the third most at Colorado State and in the league.

NCAA Division I head coaches who are WBCA members may nominate players from their own teams for Coaches' All-America. They then vote for the top eight players in their respective regions from among those players who are nominated. The WBCA NCAA Division I Awards Committee, which is composed of head coaches from each region who are elected by their peers, may select up to 12 additional at-large finalists from the remaining pool of nominees.
