Mya Lesnar Named Mountain West Women’s Female Athlete of the Year

Women’s Shot Put National Champion earns another accolade from conference
FORT COLLINS – Junior thrower Mya Lesnar was named the Mountain West Women's Female Athlete of the Year the league office announced Wednesday.
Lesnar adds the award to her extremely successful 2024 track and field season thus far. Other big moments to Lesnar's 2024 season include:
The Rams will compete in the outdoor season with Lesnar making her outdoor debut at the Jack Christiansen Invitational March 29-30 in Fort Collins.

- Winning the 2024 women's shot put National Championship with a throw of 18.53 meters claiming the first women's individual indoor national champion in program history.
- Breaking the Colorado State and Mountain West women's shot put record with a personal best mark of 19.10 meters.
- Claiming a conference championship in both the women's shot put and weight throw with marks of 19.10 meters and 22.06 meters respectively.
- Being named the 2024 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships Performer of the Meet.
- 2024 Mountain West team Champion, leading the Colorado State women to back-to-back-to-back championships.
