Emery Herman Named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week

Fifth-Year Setter leads Rams to Golden Spike Victory and Earns First Weekly Award of Season

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State volleyball setter Emery Herman was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Rams to a 1-1 week four where the Rams clinched the Golden Spike trophy in a home and home series with the Colorado Buffaloes.
 
Herman led the Rams offensively with 88 total assists on the weekend, averaging 11 per set distributing to her hitters at a .440 kill rate. She also added 10 kills herself including three in Colorado State's Friday night win over Colorado. The setter added two service aces and eight block assists to her final weekend point total of 16.
 
Defensively, she led the Rams in total digs with 30 with 16 over CU Friday night. Herman's offensive weapons also hit a .388 hitting team percentage with three different Rams in double digit kills and all five front row attackers recording at least five in the 3-1 win in Boulder.
 
This is the 2023 Mountain West Newcomer of the Year's first weekly award win since joining the Rams last season.
 
Herman and the Rams will be back in action this Thursday as they kick off conference play against Utah State in Logan, Utah before traveling to Reno, Nevada to face to Wolf Pack Saturday.
