Cross Country Competes at Mountain West Championships

Colorado state logs several personal bests
FRESNO, Calif. - Colorado State cross country competed Friday at the Mountain West Championships. The women's side finished fifth, while the men's team finished sixth.Â
- Kenya Dennee (20:50.3) and Tatum Berg (20:50.4) led the women's side in a finish that had them across the line within a tenth of a second of each other. Both runners recorded a personal best mark for the 6k.Â
- For the men's side it was freshman Parker Westermann who was the highest-ranking Ram. The Washington native has shined all season long and continued his stride with a personal best (24:16.6) and a 40th place finish. Â
- CSU freshmen have shown promise all season long and today was no different as three first-year runners scored for the Ram women. In addition to Berg, Amrie Lacefield and Ruby Schwelm recorded top-30 finishes with both runners logging sub-21-minute times and personal bests. Â
- The women's side has preached a pack mentality all season long, and it ran true today with six Rams finishing withing seven places of each other. Among them was Mari Konold who finished 25th, recording a personal best for her third outing in a row. Â

Colorado State cross country has two weeks until its next contest, the NCAA Mountain Region Championships. The event is being held in Taylorsville, Utah, at Valley Regional Park on Nov. 14. Â
