Solidifying his stature as one of the best all-around players in the Mountain West, Colorado State senior Nique Clifford earned a pair of accolades as the league announced it's all-conference team Tuesday on the eve of the postseason tournament in Las Vegas

Clifford averaged 18.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, leading the Rams in all three categories. He ranked second in the conference in scoring as well as rebounds, sitting fifth in assists – the only player in the league to rank in the top five of all three categories.

Adding to it was his defensive prowess, being named one of the top five defenders in the league after leading the Mountain West in defensive rebounds (8.2) while providing 1.2 steals a night. He posted 12 double-doubles in the regular season, closing out the campaign with a career-best 36 points as the Rams beat Boise State on the road to finish second in the standings after being projected to finish seventh.

Clifford, a third-team selection a season ago, makes it a Mountain West leading seven consecutive campaigns Colorado State has had a first-team selection. He becomes the first Ram to be named to the all-defensive team since Nico Carvacho and J.D. Paige both were named in the 2018-19 season.

Rounding out the team's honors, point guard Kyan Evans was named honorable mention. In his first year as a starter, Evans averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 assists an outing while leading the team in 3-point percentage at 41.2.

The team will turn its attention to the Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas, earning a bye into the quarterfinals as the No. 2 seed. It will play Thursday at 7 p.m., awaiting the winner of the Nevada-Fresno State game from Wednesday night.
