LAS VEGAS – Emma Ronsiek was named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year which headlined four Colorado State women's basketball players earning recognition when the league announced its all-conference awards on Sunday.
Â
In addition to receiving the newcomer of the year award, Emma Ronsiek represented CSU on the All-Mountain West Team. Hannah Ronsiek established a spot on the MW All-Defensive team, while the star freshmen pairing of Kloe Froebe and Brooke Carlson were each named to the league's all-freshman squad.
Â
Emma, who transferred to Colorado State from Creighton, became the third Ram in the past four seasons to be named the MW Newcomer of the Year after averaging 17.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game across the conference season. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native showed up in the big moments throughout league play, averaging 19.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists against the other top-six teams in league. Her performances also earned her a spot on the 10-player All-Mountain West team, making it four-straight seasons in which a Ram has appeared on the list.

According to Her Hoop Stats, the junior holds the fourth-highest defensive win shares in the league (0.9), the second-highest among guards.
Â
The freshman duo of Carlson and Froebe excited Ram Country all season long, making appearances in each of the Rams' 18 league games. Froebe established herself as a reliable spark of the bench, averaging 9.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Froebe was fifth among freshmen in scoring (9.6 points) and the leader in offensive rebounds (2.4) despite standing just 5-foot-8. The Lincoln, Ill., native recorded three double-doubles in league play, including a monster 18-point, 18-rebound performance on the road against San Diego State.
Â
