Borrman, Palillian recognized by league.
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track and field made it a double when the Mountain West announced its weekly awards on Tuesday. Kajsa Borrman was named the women's field athlete of the week, while Annabella Palillian collected the women's freshman of the week honor.
Â
Borrman has had a breakout campaign in 2024-25, one which has already seen her win the conference title in the indoor weight throw back in February. This past weekend at the Kit Mayer Classic in Golden, Borrman threw a personal-best 67.27 meters/220-feet-8 to win the hammer throw and move up to No. 2 all time in the CSU record book. The Loveland native now sits sixth in the NCAA's performance list this season, putting her in solid position to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary round in May.
Â
Palillian was impressive in her outing at the Kit Mayer Classic, racing in both the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles. The freshman from Thornton took home the gold in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.26 – the top time among conference freshmen this season – and also ran a 1:08.44 in her 400 hurdle debut.
Â
The Rams are back in action this week with a trio of meets across four days. The competitions will take place in Long Beach, Calif. (Pacific Coast Invitational/Long Beach Invitational) and Azusa, Calif. (Bryan Clay Invitational) beginning on Wednesday.
