CSU tennis picked up seven wins on Saturday

FORT COLLINS – Before the rain rolled in, halting the second day of the Jon Messick Invitational, Colorado State tennis picked up seven wins on the day.
 
Transfer Hannah Haber led the way, picking up wins in doubles and singles. She paired up with freshman Anni Amalnathan to win their first doubles match of the day 7-6 (9-7) over Wyoming's pair of Ceinos and Orlova. The duo battled in the finals of their doubles draw falling to Air Force's Selvan and Ko 6-3.
 
In her singles match, Haber was matched up with New Mexico State's Mariella Gelbke, taking the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.
 
Sorcha Caves (6-1, 6-4) and Stella Simpson-Morgan (6-2, 6-2) each earned singles wins in straight sets for CSU.  
 
Sophomore Diana Lizarazo had a hard-fought hour-and-a-half battle with Shivanni Selvan of Air Force, falling in three sets 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 6-2.
 
Sunday's final day of the Jon Messick Invitational will start at 9 a.m., resuming the suspended singles matches from Saturday. The final day of the event is scheduled to feature one round of doubles play and one of singles.
