Colorado State men’s basketball heads on the road for a pair of games
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State men's basketball hits the road for the week with a pair of road games. The trip starts on Tuesday when the Rams head to California to face Fresno State at 7 p.m. MT.
Opening Tip
- Colorado State picked up its first home conference win of the season defeating UNLV 70-62.
- Four Rams finished the game in double figures scoring lead by Brandon Rechsteiner's 15 points. Rechsteiner added in four assists, four rebounds and a steal.
- Rashaan Mbemba returned to the lineup for the Rams in his first game since Nov. 26. In his return he had 11 points and tied for a team-lead with six rebounds over 20 minutes of play.
- Carey Booth put together a strong game with 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks. He was a perfect 3-for-3 behind the arc.
- The Rams defense stepped up in the second half holding UNLV to 39.1% shooting.
- Josh Pascarelli surpassed 1,000 career points with his 10 on Friday night. He now has 1,004 overall.
- While their box score stats may not pop out, Jevin Muniz and Nikola Djapa were a combined +29 for the Rams on Friday night.
- Colorado State enters Tuesday night's game with a 13-game win streak over Fresno State. Although their last two trips to Fresno have come down to the wire.
- CSU ranks 84th in the nation and third in the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.41.
- The Rams 16.4 assists per game are the third best in the Mountain West and 73rd in the nation.
- Colorado State is assisting on 61.9% of its made field goals on the year, the 22nd best mark in the nation.

- Jorgensen's performance over the first week earned him Mountain West Player of the Week honors. The sophomore averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in the first two games of the season.
- Pascarelli earned his honor after his performance against Colorado (12/6/25). The junior scored 26 points connecting on eight 3-pointers for the second straight game.
- CSU earned a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2024-25 and third in four years.
- Colorado State's 26 wins in 2024-25 tied for the second most in program history. They finished one win behind the record of 27 set by the 2014-15 team.
- The Rams welcomed the best transfer portal class in the Mountain West in 2025 ranking 61st in the nation.
- Colorado State has the longest active streak of having a player on the first team All-Mountain West list at seven years. Nico Carvacho (2019-20), David Roddy (2021-22), Isaiah Stevens (2023-24) and Nique Clifford (2025).
- Nique Clifford became the fourth player in program history to be picked in the first round of the NBA Draft in June. Clifford was the 24th pick overall by Oklahoma City with his rights traded to Sacramento.
- Clifford had one of the best seasons in program history his final year. He earned AP All-America honorable mention, was the MVP for the Mountain West Tournament and helped the program earn its first Mountain West title since 2003 by winning the Mountain West Tournament.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Fresno State started the year strong winning six of their first eight games, but has struggled recently with one win over the past eight games. The lone win came at San Jose State last Tuesday. Four of those seven losses have come by single digits.
The Bulldogs are led by a familiar name in former Air Force Falcon Jake Heidbreder who transferred to Fresno after spending a year at Clemson.Heidbreder is averaging 17.7 points for FSU.
Zaon Collins (13.6) and DeShawn Gory (10.6) are also averaging double figures scoring.
Defensively, Fresno State does a good job guard and the 3-point line leading the Mountain West and ranking eighth in the nation in 3-point percentage defense at 27.9%.

Colorado State heads to Boise, Idaho for a rematch of the 2025 Mountain Tournament title game against Boise State. The Rams and Broncos tip-off at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16.
