Hammer Squad Shines at Beach Invite

Ramos moves to sixth best in school history

CALIFORNIA – Colorado State track and field continued its California weekend on Friday at the Beach Invitational and Bryan Clay Invite. Throwers and a handful of sprinters competed at the Beach Invitational while distance runners ran under the lights at the Bryan Clay Invite 

Beach Invite  

Freshman sprinter Wilkins Persichina made his outdoor debut in the 200-meter dash recording a mark of 21.52. The freshman has been out of action with injury for a few months but debuts with a strong performance.  

The men's hammer saw Lenardo Ramos and Adam Hellbom duke it out with the NCAA's best finishing in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Ramos needed everything to get past Hellbom, which resulted in a personal best 65.52-meter/214-11. He moves to sixth best Colorado State history. 

The women's hammer also had a strong day with Kajsa Borrman winning the event outright with a season best 66.21/217-2. Makayla Long finished fifth place with a season best at 57.50/188-7.  

Bryan Clay Invite 

Ethan Mann competed in the men's 800 recording an outdoor personal best of 1:50.62. He moves into CSU's all time record book at 15th best ever and ranks top 10 in the Mountain West this season. 

Davis Rydman set a personal best in the 5000 meter at 14:07.14, he moves into the top 20 all time for Colorado State.
