MEET NOTES
  • While CSU isn't supplying a full-strength roster for Saturday, the majority of the throws and sprints squads will be competing. Notably the men's and women's 4x100 squads will compete for the first time this season, as well as the women's 4x400.
  • The throwers will be full strength, including Swedish hammer throw stars Adam Hellbom and Kajsa Borrman. Hellbom ranks 22nd in the nation at 67.33-meters/220-feet-10. Borrman ranks 14th at 66.13/217-2.
  • The Rams are sporting one of the best women's discus squads in the nation with five Rams ranking in the top 100. Klaire Kovatch leads the pack ranking sixth in the country at 59.55/195-4. She is followed by Borrman at No. 30, Makayla Long at No. 44, Jet Van Der Heijden at No. 67, and Katy Taylor at 76. CSU owns six of the top seven spots in the Mountain West this season.
  • Ndayiragije Shukurani enters the high jump after a stellar outing last week in the triple jump. The sophomore is just .25 inches behind Colorado State's record in the event and looks to stamp his place safely in the regional qualifier zone.
  • The Rams are loading up on the sprints with two jumpers entering the 100 for the Ram women. Cierra Gonzalez is a former multi-athlete who has run the 200 and 100 races for the Rams before, while Jo-Anna Pinnock will be making her debut in a non-jump competition. Typically 400 runners Kenny Carpenter, Ashton Whisler and Sean Donelson will also be entering in the 200.
