Athletic Department Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class

FORT COLLINS – This fall, Colorado State Athletics will add five more members to the Hall of Fame, a group which will be recognized during Homecoming and Family Weekend, Oct. 2-4.

Football players Shaquil Barrett and Michael Gallup will be honored, as will track and field competitors Aaliayah Pete and Cole Rockhold and volleyball player Kate Steffan-Greenwald. They will all be inducted during a ceremony on Oct. 2 at Canvas Stadium. The ceremony will start at 4:00 p.m. Tickets to the banquet are available here.

The five inductees will be recognized the following day as Colorado State hosts Oregon State (4 p.m.) in the program's first Pac-12 contest. Tickets to the homecoming football game are going fast and can be purchased here.

Shaquil Barrett, Football
One of the most dominant defensive players in program history, Barrett earned three all-conference accolades at Colorado State before embarking on a 10-year NFL career which saw him raise a pair of Super Bowl trophies. After twice being named honorable mention All-Mountain West, Barrett was crowned the league's defensive player of the year in 2013 after registering 20.0 tackles for loss and 12 sacks that season, capped by a remarkable series of plays in the New Mexico Bowl where he caused fumbles on successive plays which set up a remarkable comeback victory for the Rams over Washington State. He went undrafted in the NFL, but after five seasons and a Super Bowl victory with the Denver Broncos, he became an even bigger star for Tampa Bay, once again winning a Super Bowl and establishing the organization's sack record with 19.5 in 2019. He was twice named All-Pro.

Michael Gallup, Football
He established himself as one of the greatest wideouts in Colorado State history and only needed two years to prove it through a series of highlight receptions where he made the difficult catch look ordinary. He was a two-time All-Mountain West selection and a consensus All-American in 2017 when he was a Biletnikoff Award finalist. He graduated fifth in receptions and with the single-season mark of 100 catches. Twice he had 13 catches in a game, leaving him ranked second in yards for a season (1,413), yards in a game (263), and career scoring catches (21). He is the only Ram with a trio of games where he caught three scoring passes. He was a third-round pick by Dallas in the 2018 NFL Draft, playing professionally for six seasons.

Aaliayah Pete, Track and Field
A stalwart performer from start to finish, she collected hardware like a calendar accumulates days. Pete won seven Mountain West shot put titles in total – three indoor, four outdoor – setting the school benchmark in both seasons (56-4.5 indoor, 56-3 outdoor). She was a second-team All-American indoor in 2017 and as a three-time qualifier for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, was twice an honorable mention All-American. In total, she collected 10 all-conference honors, setting the Mountain West indoor shot record in 2017. She also exited the program ranked sixth in the weight throw and in the top 10 of the discus.

Cole Rockhold, Track and Field/Cross Country
His resume tells a tale of becoming one of the most decorated distance runners in Colorado State history, with a handful of All-American honors and a trio of conference titles. He was a first-team All-American twice, a pair of second-team honors and one honorable mention, garnering All-American accolades in cross country, all from 2017-18. Rockhold won four Mountain West Championships, two in 2018 when he took the 1,500 and the 5,000 meters. As an eight-time all-conference performer in track, he set the Mountain West championship record in the 3,000 in 2017. He collected a pair of all-conference nods in cross country. A true student-athlete, he left the program with a pair of event records, ranked second in two others and was named CSU's Dean's Scholarship Award winner.

Katelyn Steffan-Greenwald (VB) (2012)
After a strong start to her career, Steffan did what became tradition on Tom Hilbert's team by taking full advantage of her shot to take center stage. In 2011, Steffan was named a third-team AVCA All-American, following her being awarded Mountain West Player of the Year honors. She was a key component to the Rams winning four consecutive conference championships, each coinciding with a trip to the NCAA Tournament and at least one victory in each of those tournaments, with the 2009 team reaching the Sweet 16. Steffan left ranking second in single-season kills per set (3.59) and points per set (4.31) in the modern era. She was named the 2012 Frank Award winner, presented annually to the most outstanding female athlete.
