Fall 2017 (Junior)Â
Competed in the Ram Masters Invitational, shooting a 54-hole total of 232... Had his best round of the tournament in the opening 18, shooting a 3-over 75.
2016-17 (Sophomore)Â
Played in two tournaments and six rounds in his first year at CSU, averaging 78.83 strokes per round… Had a season-best 77 in the second round of the Cowboy Classic…Â
Prior to CSU
As a freshman at Colorado played in seven tournaments and 20 rounds, posting a 75.43 stroke average... Had his top finish in the Ballyneal Challenge, tying for 17th, while his season low 3-over 219 occurred at the Air Force Academy’s Gene Miranda Invitational... Had 17 rounds in the 70s on the season... His low 18-hole round occurred at Hawai’i-Hilo’s Amer Ari Invitational, posting 1-under 71 in the final round.
High School
As a senior earned All-State, All-Colorado and All-League honors when he tied for sixth in the state tournament (72-75—147) at Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo, helping Valor Christian to a second consecutive 4A state title with CSU's Jake Staiano... Owned a 73 stroke average as a sophomore, which he lowered to 72 as a junior and to 70.5 his senior year.
Amateur
As an amateur tied for 42nd in the 2016 Saguaro Amateur (Southern Dunes GC, Maricopa, Ariz.), carding a 73-75-76—224 in the event held just after the first of the year... Cruised to a victory in the Colorado Golf Association’s 2015 Junior Match Play Championship, winning all six matches with none going the full distance and defeating Andrew McCormick of Denver 4 and 2 in the 36-hole final... Was the 2014 Colorado Junior PGA champion with a 64-65—129 effort (11-under par at Indian Tree Golf Club in Arvada, including a 30 on the back nine to rally him to the win), and claimed the titles at the CJGA Estes Park (68-70—138) and the RMJGT at Walking Stick (70-73—143)... Was also second in the Bass Pro Shop/Payne Stewart AJGA Championship (71-69-72—212).
Personal
Was born April 27, 1997 in Denver... Played golf for the first time as a freshman in high school; his main interest had been ice hockey, which is still one of his top hobbies... His father, Otto, played college football at Colorado State (receiver, placekicker). (Last name is pronounced eye-hinger.)
