2018 (Senior): Played in all 12 games and started 11, leading the team with 717 yards and four touchdowns on 166 carries (4.3), with a long of 56 ... added a career-high 27 receptions for 169 yards (6.3) and one touchdown with a long of 23 ... named to the preseason Doak Walker Award watch list, and garnered preseason Athlon All-MW second team and Phil Steele All-MW fourth team ... finished career ranked 8th on CSU's all-time rushing list with 2,654 yards on 548 att. (4.8), and 4th in rushing touchdowns with 30 in 47 career games.
  • Led CSU in rushing with 63 rushing yards on 15 carries and had 6 catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in season opener against Hawai'i (Aug. 25).
  • Rushed for a 1-yard to score to give the Rams the lead for good with 8 seconds remaining in win over Arkansas (Sept. 8) ... after being bottled up most of the night, Matthews was clutch on the final scoring drive, setting up his touchdown with a 14-yard rush to the 1-yard line.
  • Rushed for a season-high 125 yards on 22 carries (5.7 avg), claiming his first 100-yard game of the season and fifth of his career, in win at San Jose (Oct. 6) ... also scored CSU’s go-ahead TD at the 11:26 mark of the 4th quarter, putting CSU up 35-30.
  • Rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries at Boise State (Oct. 19) to notch his sixth career 100-yard game and second of the season.
  • Recorded the seventh 100-yard outing of his career against Utah State (Nov. 17), and his third of the season
    • Became one of three Rams with at least one 100-yard game in four different seasons

2017 (Junior): Played in 11 games, rushing 132 times for 613 yards and eight touchdowns... Had 12 catches for 140 yards and a receiving touchdown... Scored the first touchdown in CSU's new stadium... Has rushed for at least one touchdown in 13 consecutive Mountain West games... Missed the Boise State (Nov. 11) and San Jose State (Nov. 18) games with an injury.
  • Scored a one-yard touchdown in the season-opener against Oregon State (Aug. 26), the first touchdown in the Rams' new stadium.
  • Rushed for 89 yards while also pulling in three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown in the win over Abilene Christian (Sept. 9).
    • The 22-yard catch was his first career receiving touchdown.
  • Accounted for 94 yards of total offense at No. 1 Alabama (Sept. 16), putting up 47 yards on 16 carries and pulling in three catches for 47 yards.
  • Rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries in the win at Hawai'i (Sept. 30).
    • His 66-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter marked the longest run of his career.
  • Carried 20 times for 84 yards and a touchdown in a win at Utah State (Oct. 7).

2016 (Sophomore): Played in all 13 games and started one (vs. Northern Colorado, Sept. 17), logging 153 carries for 734 yards (4.8 avg) and a team-high 13 touchdowns, with six receptions for 40 yards... his 13 rushing touchdowns rank fifth in the Mountain West and tie for sixth in CSU single season history... rushed for a touchdown in eight consecutive games to end the season, including multiple touchdowns in four of those games.
  • Rushed for 49 yards on 12 carries, including a seven-yard touchdown, in a win over UTSA (Sept. 10)
  • Made his first career start in a win over UNC (Sept. 17), recording 12 carries for 62 yards and one catch for 10 yards 
  • Ran for 47 yards on just seven carries (6.7 avg) at Minnesota (Sept. 24)
  • Recorded a career-high 23 carries which went for 73 yards and two touchdowns against Utah State (Oct. 8)

2015 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games, including the Rams' final 10 contests, registering 97 carries for 590 yards (5.9 average) and five touchdowns... His 590 rushing yards ranked first among Mountain West freshman running backs, and his five rushing touchdowns tied for first... Averaged 81 rushing yards per game over the last six games of the season, including 6.7 yards per carry and four touchdowns... His 590 rushing yards were the fifth-most in CSU history by a freshman.
  • Rushed for 53 yards in his first collegiate game, including a 37-yard touchdown on the last play of the game against Savannah State (9/5).
