2011: Redshirted as a true freshman in his first season of college eligibility.
High School: Became the first official member of CSU[apos]s Class of 2011, signing his paperwork on his 18th birthday, after graduating one semester early and enrolling in college courses for the spring semester...One of the state[apos]s top prospects entering his senior campaign as a captain at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland, just 15 minutes south of Fort Collins, tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a home scrimmage against Centaurus only six days before the Eagles[apos] season-opener...Still rated the No. 5 overall prospect in the state by the Denver Post, and No. 62 player in the Midlands region by SuperPrep...Prior to the injury, was a Denver Post All-Colorado selection after his junior year in 2009, when he averaged nearly 10 yards per carry, racking up 1,975 yards and 17 touchdowns... Rated the nation[apos]s No. 28 running back by Rivals.com, earned first-team Class 4A all-state honors, as well as first-team all-Northern Conference and all-area recognition...Also was nominated to play in the All-American Bowl prior to his senior-season injury...Playing for the first time as a varsity athlete in 2008, burst onto the scene with 1,563 yards on 156 carries (10.0 avg.), with 10 TDs, garnering honorable-mention all-state and first-team all-conference honors...A full-time kickoff returner as a sophomore and junior, saw very few opportunities because opponents usually kicked away from him...Had a touchdown called back by penalty on one 2008 return...Head football coaches were Mike DeWall and Brian Inman...Graduated with a 3.0 GPA...Played basketball and ran track as a freshman before focusing on football...The focus of TVHS[apos] run-first offense, used 4.34-second speed in the 40-yard dash to draw recruiting interest from Oregon, Cal, Arizona State, UCLA, Colorado, Utah and Air Force.
