Matt Lesser joined the staff at Colorado State in January 2017 and has served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment and Operations in August 2019.
Prior to his promotion, he served as the Equipment Manager/Olympic sports and was promoted to head equipment manager/Olympic sports in January 2019. Lesser is responsible for the management of the Department’s Under Armour contract, as well as the day-to-day equipment operations for the football program. Lesser also oversees the supervision of three full-time Equipment Manager and 30 student managers.
An AEMA-certified equipment manager, Lesser spent two football seasons as the head football equipment manager at Middle Tennessee State. In his time at MTSU, he was responsible for the day-to-day equipment operations for the Football Bowl Subdivision football program, including the supervision of one graduate assistant and 14 student managers. He also handled all the coordination and procurement of equipment for all 17 varsity sports as well handling vendor relationships and the equipment department's Twitter account.
Prior to MTSU, he spent one season as director of football operations with the Jacksonville Sharks of the Arena Football League. Lesser stared his career as an undergraduate at the University of Alabama, working with the football program as a student equipment manager. Lesser graduated with his bachelor's in business management in 2014. He also received a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State in 2022.
Lesser and his wife, Casey, have one daughter, Nora.
