Aaron Young is in his first year as a graduate assistant with the Colorado State men’s basketball program.

Young spent the last three years coaching at the high school level, including working with Team Buddy Buckets, a 16U team sponsored by the NBA Sacramento Kings’ Buddy Hield. He was also the assistant basketball coach at his high school alma mater Edmond Memorial (Okla.) for four years.

A three-year letterwinner at Oral Roberts, he played in 90 games for coach Scott Sutton, averaging more than six points and 1.5 assists per game. He finished his career with more than 100 made 3-pointers and ranked third for the Golden Eagles in career 3-point percentage at 41.5 percent. He had a career-high 29 points at Denver in January. In 2017, he earned his Bachelor of Science in sport and fitness administration/management, while also served on SAAC and was in the NASCAR Sports Marketing Program.

A native of Edmond, Okla., Young played on the 2011 and 2013 state champion basketball teams and ran track at Edmond Memorial High School. The son of Rick and LaSonya Young, his dad is in the Shawnee Basketball Hall of Fame and his brother Josh played collegiately at Drake and then six years professionally in Germany.
