Mark enters his second year as a javelin technical consultant for Colorado State track & field in 2020-21. In his role, Mark works with the individual and multi-event javelin coaches and throwers.Â

Mark has extensive coaching experience at the high school level.Â
Â
In 2019, Mark coached the U20 US National and Pan American heptathlon champion, who was a top shot put competitor in Colorado and set the pentathlon and heptathlon US high school national records. Â

From 2014-2018, Mark was the boy's throws coach at Albuquerque Academy High School in New Mexico. During that time, Mark's athletes produced 27 state qualifiers, won 10 individual state championships, set state records in the shot and discus, and set school records in shot, javelin, and discus. Mark is most proud that the Albuquerque Academy has won the boy's state javelin championship for 5 consecutive seasons (2015-19), with three individual throwers reaching over 190 feet and one returning for the 2020 season.Â

As a student-athlete, Mark competed at Louisiana State University from 1989-92 and was an NCAA All-American and SEC champion in the javelin. Mark was also an NCAA Academic All-American and member of two NCAA Outdoor National Championship teams with the Tigers. Mark earned a Bachelor of Science of Mechanical Engineering where he was awarded "Most Outstanding Graduate" by the LSU faculty. Mark also has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. Â

Mark resides in Centennial, CO with his wife, Angie, and two younger children. His older child, Jackson Morris, is a thrower on the CSU track and field team. Mark works as a Program Architect for Salesforce who supports his volunteering efforts through their unique corporate philanthropy program.
